The Story

Following on from last week Cliff is falling down the liftshaft of Max Porridge's secret HQ. He lands in a mud puddle and then hears voices. He takes a look and sees Max Porridge and his assistant taking the last of the beetles from the mine.

Cliff hides in the shadows until they've gone planning to make an escape then, but as they lift up the last of the beetles, Max commands the mine to flood and water gushes in.

To save Cliff Hanger you have to get him through a maze. But for every box he moves forward, the water behind him moves two squares forward. The key is to get Cliff to the exit without blocking his path with water. If Cliff follows the right path and the water is filled to the ends of all the possible tunnels to stop it from catching him. Cliff should escape.

If Cliff doesn't escape, you're led to a picture of him drowning asking the reader to try again. But if he does escape he comes out through a hole in the ground and spots a large oval shadow in front of him. We'll find out what it is next week!

Next to the usual Abolish Tuesday's sign is a second sign saying "But not this Tuesday as it's Christmas Eve"
